Candidate Questionnaire Responses

1. What have been your greatest contributions to ASAM or to the field of addiction medicine over the last 10 years?
As President of our Ohio State Chapter, I advocated to begin establishing Overdose Prevention Centers, OPC's, while presenting to our annual State Conference. I present each academic quarter my OPC power point lecture to the Case Western Reserve Residents in Psychiatry, ER, Family Medicine. The residents rotate with me for their month of Addiction Medicine and learn first hand the need for OPC's while working with me at the homeless Residential Addiction Center Y-Haven and the Salvation Army Survivors of Trafficking program. By visiting NYC's OnPoint OPC, we were all able to see the success in reducing OD deaths while saving millions in reducing hospitalization and crime.

2. How would your election to the 探花合集 Board of Directors benefit ASAM and the field of addiction medicine?
By working with the Ohio State Legislature, I will continue to focus on our need to establish OPC's throughout the state. As a member of our county Board for Mental Health and Addiction treatment, I will continue to present to our county's 76 non-profit agencies on the success of OPC's and our need to enact legislation.

I will work with local TV Stations, Press and Media to further spread the knowledge of how we can save lives, reduce crime, recidivism, and the millions of dollars spent on treating OD hospitalization.
