PS Vita to PS3
Before you can connect your PS Vita to your PlayStation 3 please check:
If you're having problems, have you removed the USB cable from the PS Vita and the PS3?
In some instances unplugging the USB cable from both the PS Vita and the PS3 and then plugging it back in can help.
Is the PS3 update with System Software version 4.00 or higher?
To connect your PS Vita to a PS3 and perform operations such as copying data, the PS3 System Software must be version 4.00 or higher. For information on how to update your PS3's System Software please click here.
Is the PS3 system displaying the XrossMediaBar (XMB)?
If a game or another feature (including PlayStation Netowrk functions such as Account Management) is being used, you'll be unable to connect your PS Vita to the PS3. To connect your PS Vita to the PS3, please make sure that the PS3 system is at the XMB.
Is there a Memory Card in the PS Vita?
Before you can transfer content between your PS Vita and PS3, you'll need to have a Memory Card inside the PS Vita.
