PlayStation Network video
Sony says the PlayStation Network (PSN) is currently coming back online and running after a Christmas hack rendered the service unusable.
For many, a new PlayStation 4 video game console sat under their Christmas tree earlier this week. For others, there were a collection of new games.
Either way, tons of children and adults across the country were eager to fire up their new goodies but were greeted with a not so welcoming message stating that the online aspect of the Sony PlayStation (PSN) was down after an alleged hack.
This of course wasn’t the first time the service had been hit by a hack and normally most issues are resolved within a matter of hours. Except this wasn’t. Not only did the outage last for more than a few hours on Christmas Day but it extended into Friday.
There was a moment of quick reprieve for some but the hack kept most off online through Saturday night.
Thankfully though it appears all has been repaired as the PlayStation Network is said to be back up and working in full capacity (for most).
Update: PS4, PS3, and Vita network services are gradually coming back online – thanks for your patience

There are still some small issues currently being ironed out but it appears the Christmas hack that shut down PSN is finally coming to an end and those dying to play their new games and/or console can finally get the opportunity.
PSN wasn’t the only gaming service interrupted during the holiday either as XBox Live was also hacked, though was only down a matter of hours in comparison to the Playstation Network which has been down for days.
