New Releases PS3
(Photo : Atlus/SCE) "Persona 5" is coming sometime between October to December of this year according to a recently gathered Atlus financial report. Through the process of elimination, it's possible to glean these unannounced details about the upcoming JRPG. The game will release on PS3 and PS4 and will focus on institutional control and the color red.
"Persona 5's" Japan and U.S. release window may have been revealed in Atlus' 2015 financial reports. If the estimated documentation proves correct, the game will release on PS3 and PS4 from October to December of this year.
The news comes to Design & Trend via Sega Sammy's 2015 earnings report with additional analysis by Persona Central. While not explicitly stated in the text, it's possible to infer "Persona 5's" release window through the process of elimination.
For a deeper understanding of the information, it's important to note that Atlus' 2015 fiscal year ended in March. That means any time from April 2015 through March 2016 completes the company's 2016 earnings calendar. From the months of April to September, four different titles are listed as available. "Persona 4: Dancing All Night" is mentioned for that time frame in Japan, but "Persona 5" is conspicuously absent.
At this point, it's also worth recalling that Atlus has repeatedly said that "Persona 5" will release in Japan and the U.S. sometime this year. Since the financial report dictates that that date is sometime after September, it's possible to combine the consumer and investor details to glean a release window between October to December of 2015. After all, it's the only time frame that abides by both of Atlus' past announcements.
North America's financial forecast suggests the same trend, meaning that the time between the English and Japanese releases of the game won't be as agonizing as many had assumed. If the above details prove accurate, the localization will only take a few extra months at most.
The only slight detail that might stand in the way of this speculated "Persona 5" release date window is a possible delay. That being said, as of the middle of last month, Atlus held strong to its original report of a 2016 fiscal year release. At most, this means the game could be pushed back to March. However, that would require the developer to convey those details to the public. That's something they have yet to do.
"Persona 5" is the fifth entry to the PlayStation-friendly RPG franchise about groups of high school kids with special abilities. Characters engage in dungeon-crawling, turn-based combat to understand various worlds with sinister secrets. In past interviews, director Katsura Hashino said the game will focus on institutional shackles and how relationships can be used to overcome them.
