Free games PlayStation Store
A new month means a slew of new freebies on the PlayStation Store, and a new week means some new non-free stuff as well. This week is light on content on both fronts, although Metal Gear fans who were hesitant about Ground Zeroes should be pretty stoked. As far as the rest of the content, nothing big is out (we are right in front of E3, after all), but we do have a couple of interesting options for those of you more interested in obscure or more historic games.
- Arcade Archives: Renegade (.99)
For me, this is the PlayStation Store’s marquee title of the week. Why? Well, North America has seen this game before, but not in its original form. Renegade is actually part of the long-running Kunio-kun series (think River City Ransom), and this arcade-perfect release keeps that lineage intact.
- Skulls of the Shogun ($9.99)
One of this month’s PlayStation Plus freebies, this turn-based strategy game is set in the feudal Japan afterlife, and pits all kinda of cutesy undead samurai dudes against each other.
- Super Exploding Zoo! ($10.99)
A defense-style game about… exploding animals? 3-Way Cross Buy.
- Sparkle Unleashed (.99)
A marble-shooter match-3 puzzle game with a fantasy coat of paint. Lots of levels and a free demo that lets you pay to unlock the full version if you like it. 3-Way Cross Buy.
The popular “prison-break simulator” from Team17 (of Worms fame) makes its way to the PS4.
- Class of Heroes 2G ($44.99)
Monkeypaw Games and Gaijinworks are nice and committed to this PS3 update of the 2013-released PSP game. If you missed out the first time and like first-person dungeon-crawlers, here’s your chance to play on the big screen,
- Tetris Ultimate ($14.99)
If you’re still curious about Ubisoft’s take on Tetris, it has finally arrived on the Vita. Fans of the platform should know this version has three new exclusive modes.
